Greetings All!   You must learn to work smarter, not harder!

If you follow my blogs and posts on NotaryRotary.com you know I have taken a part-time job at the local, and quite effective Brazos Valley branch of the Small Business Development Center (http://www.bvsbdc.org ). I have done so to compliment my notary signing agent income due to the rising interest rate which has such a large affect on my notary closing business. Not all states are affected by this fact of life, however, Texas is one state which is feeling the impact in the notary loan closing business.

One of the reasons I enjoy my job so much is because it has validated my personal business concepts and perceptions so often the victim of a "fogging" approach taken toward me and my writings by those who hire notaries and desire to do so by getting them for a pittance of what we are worth so that they may keep one-half of the escrow fee for notary assistance in real estate closings.

Notary loan closers (aka notary signing agents, or notary closers) are led to believe that we must be ultra-cheap to be competitive. This is not necessarily the case and the more you learn about practical business concepts, the more you will realize this is not the case.

You must learn to work smarter, not harder!

This is a concept I derived from reading posts on NotaryRotary.com from the teachers of  NotaryClasses.com. You must learn to think large and long on your business and learn the way to market yourself to shine above the rest and in such a way that will bring recognition to your business. (By the way, Joan Bergstrom, who teaches at NotaryClasses.com. sells a publication on marketing at http://www.joanbergstrom.net  - contact her at joanbergst@hotmail.com  for more information.)

Some of the inroads to working smarter and not harder will be considered in the ideas offered in today's short articles.  If you make it to the end and Bring Success Into Focus, you might also find I have answered the question of why I write this newsletter.
